Tournament Information

2022 US Open Spec Tennis Championship
Feb. 4th - 6th

Friday (Feb. 4th): 
Co-ed Singles starting at 2 pm

Saturday (Feb 5th): 
Men's,Women's and Mixed Doubles starting at 8 am

Sunday (Feb 6th)
Men's, Women's and Mixed Doubles Semifinals: 8 am to 9 pm followed by Finals (not before 9:30 am)

REGISTRATION

Advance registration is required by January 14th, 2022. There will be no on-site registration. SPACE IS LIMITED to the first 16 doubles teams to signed up per division, so registered early to secure a spot! Registration will close once all the spots are filled. Balls will be provided.

Please, bring food and beverage of your choice and provide your own water bottle. There is a restaurant within the club’s premises.

Women’s Doubles (Round Robin Stage): Not before 11 am to 2 pm
Mixed Doubles (Round Robin Stage): Not before 2 pm to 5 pm
Single-elimination Quarterfinals Round: Not before 5 pm to 7 pm
 
Sunday (Feb 6th)
Men’s Doubles Semifinals: 8 am to 9 pm followed by Finals (not before 9:30 am)
Women’s Doubles Semifinals: 8 am to 9 pm followed by Finals (not before 9:30 am)
Mixed Doubles Semifinals: 8 am to 9 pm followed by Finals (not before 9:30 am)

TOURNAMENT FORMAT

The format of the tournament is like the FIFA World Cup in that there is first a Round-Robin Group Stage where doubles teams compete against one another in their groups. There are maximum of 16 doubles teams per division, which is broken down into 4 groups of 4 teams each during the Round-Robin. Teams will not be seeded. Brackets will be determined by random draw.

EQUIPMENT USED

The only official spec tennis tournament-approved paddle is made by Spade Sports. No other paddle will be authorized.

 

POLICIES

Registration forms must include partner’s name at the time of registration. Incomplete forms will not be processed. Divisions can be cancelled or combined at the discretion of the tournament committee. If needed, it is the player’s responsibility to find a replacement partner.

TOURNAMENT FEES

$40 per player initial registration fee. $15 each event.

TOURNAMENT AWARDS

Medals will be awarded for the first three places.

The tournament will be open to adults in the following categories:


Men’s Doubles: 18 & Over / 40 & Over / 55 & Over

Women’s Doubles: 18 & Over / 40 & Over / 55 & Over

Mixed Doubles: 18 & Over / 40 & Over / 55 & Over

CO-ED  Singles: 18 & Over / 40 & Over / 55 & Over

Players can play down in age, but not up. Age groups will be determined by the age of the youngest doubles player. Divisions may be combined based on registration totals if the tournament director deems it necessary. Last day to withdraw to receive a refund: Jan 28th.
